Virgil Abloh

Virgil Abloh (1980 - 2021) was multi-talented in many different fields: he possessed skills as an artist, architect, engineer, creative director, artistic director, industrial designer, fashion designer, musician, DJ as well as a philanthropist. He graduated in civil engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and pursued a Master's degree in architecture at the Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) in Chicago after that. During his time at IIT, he delved into a design curriculum inspired by the well-known Mies van der Rohe, which played a pivotal role in shaping the principles of his own artistic practice. Abloh's entrepreneurial ventures included being the Chief Creative Director and founder of Off-White™, a prominent fashion brand, as well as working as the Men's Artistic Director at Louis Vuitton. He died in November 2021.
