Description

HAY’s X-Line chair combines lightness with elegance, making the chair a stylish choice for terraces, gardens and living rooms alike. Made of thin steel, the X-Line chair is based on a simple geometric leg structure that is shaped like the letter X. This design provides stability and strength to the sitter, while also delivering an aesthetically appealing design that subtly flirts with industrial influences.

The X-Line chair was originally designed in 1977 by architect Niels Jørgen Haugesen and manufactured by Magnus Olesen until 2025. Now, the Danish design brand HAY has reintroduced the metal chair to the delight of modern design enthusiasts.

    It's recommended to store outdoor furniture in a dry, ventilated place during winter and protected against scratches. Wipe off the furniture if it becomes wet after rain or snowfall as this will damage the surface over time.
  • Care instructions Wipe with a clean cloth wrung in water or with a a neutral detergent. Clean soap residue immediately with a dry cloth. Avoid using scouring cream or scouring pads as they may scratch the surface. Please make sure to wipe all surfaces before use as the zinc surface oxidises during transportation and can become humid. This can stain your clothes. We recommend cleaning regularly.

Shipping & Delivery

If all the items in your order are in stock, your order will be dispatched from our warehouse in Finland within two working days. The estimated delivery time is shown on the product pages and at checkout.

We offer free shipping on small items for orders over
£129.

For large items, free shipping applies to orders over  £3000.

“Small item” refers to parcels under 80 cm in length or weighing less than 25 kg. Larger or heavier shipments are classified as “Large item deliveries” (see below).

Please note that the free shipping thresholds stated above may not apply in certain cases. In such situations, any applicable shipping fees will be clearly displayed at checkout.

Large item delivery charge range from £29 to £149 and is automatically calculated and displayed on the product page and at checkout. The exact cost is confirmed once your delivery address has been entered.

Large item delivery charges apply to any single parcel with a side longer than 80 cm or weighing more than 25 kg.

Please note that exceptions to these fees may apply to ensure the safe and reliable delivery of large or delicate items. In such cases, the final delivery cost will be displayed at checkout.

As a member, you’ll enjoy even better free shipping benefits on small items:

  • Level 2: Free shipping for orders over £110
  • Level 3–4: Free shipping for orders over £85

Exclusions apply: For large item deliveries, an additional surcharge is applied based on your location and the size and weight of your shipment.
