Description

Fatboy's Original Canvas Recycled bean bag is an eco-friendly choice for the home, as it’s made from 100% recycled polyester – most of it sourced from plastic bottles. You’d hardly guess it by looking at it, though, since the recycled fabric has a soft, cotton-like appearance. The material makes the surface pleasantly smooth while standing up to everyday wear and tear. Thanks to its machine-washable cover, the Original Canvas bean bag is easy to keep clean in day-to-day life.

The Fatboy Original bean bag chair, designed by Finnish Jukka Setälä, has become an international success story and a true lifestyle icon. Fatboy Original can be used in countless ways since it shapes effortlessly from a mattress to an ergonomic lounge chair and everything in between. However you choose to use it, the generously filled yet supportive polystyrene structure guarantees complete relaxationevery time.

Jukka Setälä

Jukka Setälä (b. 1967) is a Finnish interior architect who graduated from the University of Art and Design Helsinki in 1996. Since graduating, he has been working as a freelance furniture and lighting designer. He has created many products – mainly industrial design – but his most famous design is without any doubt Fatboy the Original bean bag.

Created in 1998, Fatboy the Original is a comfortable and stylish bean bag which is just perfect to relax. The idea behind the product is simple but at the same time it is a genius idea: an oversized bean bag which can be used almost everywhere – at home, at the office, etc. – and which is ideal not only to sit but has many other uses as well – you can lounge in it, take a nap, use it as an extra bed for your guests, etc. Jukka Setälä has participated in many exhibitions and received awards for his works, such as the Excellent Swedish Design Award for his Spring lamp or the Best New Furniture in Europe 2006. Jukka Setälä has been teaching furniture design at University of Art and Design Helsinki since 1999.

Shipping & Delivery

If all the items in your order are in stock, your order will be dispatched from our warehouse in Finland within two working days. The estimated delivery time is shown on the product pages and at checkout.

We offer free shipping on small items for orders over
£129.

For large items, free shipping applies to orders over  £3000.

“Small item” refers to parcels under 80 cm in length or weighing less than 25 kg. Larger or heavier shipments are classified as “Large item deliveries” (see below).

Please note that the free shipping thresholds stated above may not apply in certain cases. In such situations, any applicable shipping fees will be clearly displayed at checkout.

Large item delivery charge range from £29 to £149 and is automatically calculated and displayed on the product page and at checkout. The exact cost is confirmed once your delivery address has been entered.

Large item delivery charges apply to any single parcel with a side longer than 80 cm or weighing more than 25 kg.

Please note that exceptions to these fees may apply to ensure the safe and reliable delivery of large or delicate items. In such cases, the final delivery cost will be displayed at checkout.

As a member, you’ll enjoy even better free shipping benefits on small items:

Exclusions apply: For large item deliveries, an additional surcharge is applied based on your location and the size and weight of your shipment.
