Description

The Pieni Seppel cushion cover by Marimekko is decorated with an abstract print by Antti Kekki. The designer sought inspiration for the pattern from Maija Isola's iconic Unikko print: in this interpretation, the poppies' stems twist and turn into a lush wreath. The pink little gems in this crown are the flower centres from Isola's Unikko, as if underlining the classic print's 60th anniversary.

Please note that the covers are made using the entire length of the fabric, which means that the pattern placement and colours may vary.

Antti Kekki is a graphic designer and illustrator who is especially known for his abstract works in bold hues. Kekki executes many of his works using the collage technique, in which he composes interesting and often even improvised ensembles from various shapes he has cut out of paper. Antti Kekki lives and works in Helsinki, Finland.
