GUBI’s Pedrera coffee table draws its inspiration from Antoni Gaudí’s iconic La Pedrera building in Barcelona. In 1955, the property company decided to transform the attic – previously used as storage – into residential apartments and commissioned architect Barba Corsini to redesign the space. Corsini created 13 unique homes complete with custom lighting and furniture. In the process, the Pedrera table was born, quickly becoming a modernist classic.
The Pedrera coffee table pairs a slender chrome-plated steel frame with an organically shaped glass top that echoes the undulating lines of Gaudí’s architecture. In this version, the tabletop is made from textured glass with a surface reminiscent of rippling water. Light filters softly through the glass, beautifully highlighting the frame's sculptural design. The result is a piece that feels both light and striking – perfect alongside other designs from the same series, yet captivating enough to stand confidently on its own.
