&Tradition's Numbra TY1 pendant is a delicate meeting of Japandi spirit and industrial form. Designed by Teruhiro Yanagihara, the Numbra pendant lamp is built on the idea of a single straight line, though its pared-back shape is anything but ordinary: lacquered oak panels surround a dimmable LED tube, held together with polished aluminium fittings. Light glows softly through the gap between the panels, spreading a full 360 degrees, which makes this long, slender pendant a natural fit above a dining table, a kitchen island, or a meeting room table.

Teruhiro Yanagihara is a Japanese designer who, in addition to running his own design studio, works as a creative director at 1616 / arita japan. Yanagihara studied at Osaka University of the Arts and founded his studio in 2002. His designs are often a mix of traditional and innovative aspects, blending modern technology and serial production with the aesthetics and spirituality of Japanese culture. Yanagihara finds inspiration in art, food, and everyday moments with family and friends.
