Kinfolk magazine, issue 57

The Kinfolk magazine issue 57, Friendship Special, explores the nature of friendship – what does true friendship really mean, and why is it such a fundamental part of being human? Philosophers, anthropologists and psychotherapists reflect on the theme, including Couples Therapy’s Orna Guralnik, who believes that “the best manifestation of humanity is in friendship”.

This issue takes readers to Los Angeles, where musicians Kelly Zutrau and Buddy Ross discuss the trust that underpins creative collaboration. In Accra, Ghana, painter Amoako Boafo shares how close friendships shape both his art and worldview. The pages also feature novelist Ottessa Moshfegh, a modernist home in Hawaii, a centuries-old textile workshop in Kyoto, and the London-based design duo Barber Osgerby in their studio.

Founded in Portland in 2011 and currently headquartered in Copenhagen, Kinfolk is an independent lifestyle magazine whose aesthetics and mentality of slow living have gained worldwide success. Issue 57 was published in fall 2025, it is perfect bound and has 192 pages.
