The August bar table by Serax boasts a refreshingly simple design that can be complemented with a variety of bar stools in any kitchen or lounge space, whether inside the home or out on the patio or in the garden – the bar table is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.
The August outdoor collection by Serax, designed by Vincent Van Duysen, was originally designed to be used on the terrace of a hotel in Antwerp. The hotel building used to be the monastery of a military hospital, and this is where the inspiration for August came from – the ascetic way of life of monks. The beautifully minimalistic August collection has been stripped of anything unnecessary, leaving only the essential. Additionally, the products in the August collection are slightly wider and lower, in order to bring additional comfort without compromising on the simplicity of the design.

Vincent Van Duysen (b. 1962) is a Belgian architect, interior architect and product designer renowned for his pure, timeless style. He graduated in architecture from the Sint-Lucas Institute in Ghent in 1985 and established his own studio in Antwerp in 1990. Van Duysen’s design philosophy focuses on the essential – he strips away the superfluous to create harmonious compositions where clear architecture, understated aesthetics and a strong sense of materiality come together.
Van Duysen has designed products for brands such as Flos and Serax, and since 2016, he has served as the creative director of the Italian company Molteni&C. His work has received widespread international acclaim and has been featured in numerous major architecture and design publications around the world.
