Ferm Living's Vuelo cup is a handleless cup made of glazed stoneware, perfect for enjoying your morning coffee or serving small treats. Named after the Spanish word for "flight", the cup features an abstract bird motif created using a traditional batik technique, where wax is applied to prevent glaze from adhering to certain parts of the ceramic surface.
The design of the Vuelo collection was inspired by Can Lis, the Mallorca residence of Danish architect Jørn Utzon – often described as one of the finest private homes of the 20th century. The collection draws from a series of bird-themed illustrations sketched by Utzon at Can Lis. The forms of the building, which blend natural elements and geometric shapes, are echoed in the design of the Vuelo series, developed in collaboration with the Utzon Center, which carries on the architect's legacy.
