Description

HAY’s Layout chair by French designer Julien Renault is a delightfully versatile piece where smooth, minimalist forms meet sustainable materials. Perfect for both dining settings, workspaces and meeting rooms, the Layout 233 armchair features an upholstered seat, a shell made from recycled polypropylene and a 4-star swivel base in aluminium.

The Layout chair collection includes models for dining, working and lounging, offered in a broad range of colours and material options. Designed for both home and public environments, the chairs are characterised by their open-back design, which enhances comfort while giving the silhouette a light, airy feel. Created with circularity in mind, all components of the Layout chairs can be disassembled for refurbishment and are fully recyclable at the end of their lifecycle.

Julien Renault

Julien Renault is a French-born designer based in Brussels. He has studied industrial design in ESAD Design & Art School in Portugal and ECAL in Switzerland, and worked for example at Studio Bouroullec in Paris. In his own studio, Renault has designed furniture and accessories for brands including Mattiazzi and Hem, and he also engages in creative direction and photography.

Shipping & Delivery

If all the items in your order are in stock, your order will be dispatched from our warehouse in Finland within two working days. The estimated delivery time is shown on the product pages and at checkout.

The shipping cost is based on the destination, weight, and volume of the shipment and will be calculated automatically. You will see the exact rate, available shipping options and estimated delivery date at checkout once you have filled in your address details.

Please note that your order will be delivered as one full shipment once all the items are in stock.

Orders shipped to Australia are subject to Goods and Services Tax (GST) as following:

For private customers:

  • Orders of AU$1,000 or less (goods value only, excluding shipping and taxes):
    • A 10% GST is included in the prices and paid at checkout.
  • Orders over AU$1,000:
    • GST and any applicable import duties are collected by Australian customs upon arrival and must be paid by the recipient. Since GST is collected by customs, it is deducted from the order total at checkout and shown as a separate line item in the cost breakdown.

Please note that our product pages display prices including 10% GST. As a result, the AU$1,000 threshold effectively applies to orders with a displayed goods value of AU$1,100 or more.

Delivery terms

Orders are shipped on a DAP (Delivered at Place) basis. This means that any GST, import duties or other charges assessed by Australian customs or the carrier must be paid by the recipient in order to release the shipment.

Please note that the right to return products does not apply to:

  • Custom-made products which are ordered from the manufacturer according to the customer's wishes.
  • Custom-cut items (including fabrics and replacement webbing).

Please note that returns are subject to a restocking fee, which varies depending on your region and the item being returned. The restocking fee will be deducted from the total refund amount.
