Ferm Living’s Kiru glass captivates with its organic, slightly angular silhouette, inspired by centuries-old Japanese craftsmanship. The design draws from the technique known as kurinuki – a Japanese word meaning “to hollow out” – in which an object is shaped by carving it from a solid block of clay. The form of the Kiru drinking glass is created through a similar process: a piece of clay is hand-carved and then placed into a mould, leaving behind its unique imprint. This mould is later used in the mouth-blowing of the glass. Made from recycled glass, each Kiru tumbler carries a lively, one-of-a-kind character that beautifully complements anything from water and juice to wine or even a refreshing mocktail.
