The sun has started to melt the last snowdrifts, so now is the perfect time to turn your gaze towards summer. In March, Finnish Design Shop's selection has been updated with new products that refresh the look of your patio, garden, and terrace for the summer season. Check out the newcomers and pick your favorites for your own green oasis!

From sunny days to rainy nights

The Vig dining table serves style for long garden dinners. Designed by Simon Legald for Normann Copenhagen, the Vig collection includes a wide range of versatile terrace chairs, garden tables, and outdoor benches, making it easy to turn your summer yard into a lush and inviting green oasis.

Vig patio furniture is built to last because of its minimalist and pleasant appearance but also because of its durable material: the double powder-coated steel surface is highly resistant to varying weather conditions, from blazing sunshine to drizzling summer rain.

Age with grace

Say hello to this next beauty, arriving on your terrace straight from Denmark! Designed by Morten Anker, the RIB bench pays homage to the traditional Scandinavian design with its clear lines and simplified details, making the low outdoor bench an excellent choice for both home terraces and summer cottage yards.

The RIB outdoor furniture is made from high-quality teak, that will become even more distinctive with use and over time: untreated teak beautifully ages and changes its shade to a refined silver-gray as it gets older. If you're more of a fan of the authentic hue, no worries! The original color can be preserved and highlighted by regularly oiling the furniture with suitable furniture oil.

Familiar and friendly

If you're looking for something familiar but with an unexpected edge, HAY's spring collection is a must-see! A great choice for any patio, terrace or garden is the light and beautiful Type chair, designed by Jonas Trampedach. The design of the chair evokes a familiar feeling: it is so typically chair-like that it's actually what you imagine when you think of the word "chair".

Thanks to its aluminium surface, the Type patio chair can withstand changing weather conditions from rain to sunshine, but its timeless appearance is also well suited to indoor use, too.

Delicate tides

The Metsälampi table cloth by Lapuan Kankurit is decorated with Akira Minagawa's delicate Metsälampi pattern that takes you back to nature and the disappearing shapes in the water of the pond – appropriate that "Metsälampi" means forest pond in English. Imagine a hot day, throwing sun-warmed pebbles on a lake... Doesn't it feel like summer already?

The multifunctional linen cloth completes the look of table settings as a beautiful tablecloth but also works as a thin blanket in the summer heat, a curtain at the window or a picnic mat in the park.

The last light of the evening

When the sun starts to set, one might not always want to move from the tender warmth of the outdoors to the inside. Fortunately, you can bring light to the terrace and continue the evening for just a bit longer! Rosendahl's portable Soft Spot Solar Circular is a delightful addition for the northern summer nights with its softly diffused light reminiscent of the glow of a candle lantern.

Designed by Maria Berntsen, the versatile Soft Spot Solar uses sensor technology that makes the lamp turn on and off automatically at dusk and dawn. The portable lamp can be charged traditionally with a USB cable or its built-in solar panel.
