Vitra is a Swiss family business founded in 1950 by Willi and Erika Fehlbaum. Since its foundation, Vitra has concentrated on producing high-quality, well-designed and long-lasting furniture for homes, offices and public spaces. Vitra’s collections combine the creative touch of top designers with precise quality and durable materials, making them elegant and unique design classics.
Many of Vitra’s products have been in production since the company was founded, and all the products are still manufactured in the European Union. The center of Vitra’s operation is the Vitra Campus located in Weil am Rhein, border of Germany and Switzerland. Bringing together Vitra’s collections, design philosophy and its history and present, Vitra Campus is an impressive ensemble of contemporary architecture, and it also functions as a space for exhibitions and workshops. One of Vitra’s manufacturing units is also located at Vitra Campus – an extraordinary factory building designed by the Japanese architectural office SANAA.
