Each doll is unique, and their different expressions reflect a large scale of emotions.

Vitra took whimsical wooden figurines into production in the 2000s. Since then these quirky dolls have found their way into the hearts and homes of thousands, thanks to their vast array of emotions and expressions.

Yet, the designer Alexander Girard (1907-1993) had been creating distinctive dolls for decades before that. Girard, who is considered one of the pioneers of mid-twentieth-century American design, originally designed the wooden dolls for his home in Santa Fe in the early 1950s.

There are more than 20 different dolls, creating spark and color to your home décor.

Each doll is bursting with personality. Check out this little troublemaker with the twinkle in their eye – what do they have on their mind?

Girard was inspired not only by the design world but also handicrafts from various cultures. He traveled extensively around the world with his wife Susan. The colorful and distinctive Wooden Doll collection reflects Girard's deep passion for South American, Asian and European folk in particular.

The personalized doll comes packaged in an elegant wooden box.

The Wooden Doll is also a great gift idea for your nearest and dearest.

The cheerful wooden figurines are made of fir. Every figure is guaranteed to have its own distinct look and feel, as they all are still skilfully hand-painted, one Wooden Doll at a time.
