What’s new: Nychair X

The elegant and graceful Nychair X lounge chair draws inspiration from the Japanese lifestyle and minimalism.

Step into a world of timeless design and unparalleled comfort with Nychair X, the newest addition to Finnish Design Shop’s online store. Celebrated for its multifunctional foldable lounge chairs, this Japanese design brand embodies the essence of minimalist elegance and ergonomic craftsmanship, setting the standard for exceptional design.

NYCHAIR X is a Japanese design brand that has captivated design enthusiasts worldwide since its establishment in 1970. Nychair X is best known for its innovative and versatile foldable lounge chairs, with the very first Nychair X lounge chair launched in the same year, marking the beginning of an iconic legacy.

Now, Finnish Design Shop introduces the brand inspired by the essence of the Japanese lifestyle and minimalist aesthetic. In our online store, you can explore the whole collection, including three variants of the Nychair X lounge chair, two versions of the stylish rocking chair, and two different ottomans.

This minimalist Nychair X lounge chair features a low frame that allows for a relaxed lounging position and a high, curving backrest that provides support to the neck.

Designed by Takeshi Nii, the charming design classic gets its character from the well-balanced combination of a folding metal frame, a cotton fabric seat, and wooden armrests. The result is a minimalist, elegant, and lightweight lounge chair with a subtle yet ergonomic design that guarantees exceptional comfort. Whether you aim for a cozy spot in the living room to watch TV or dive into a book, seek a serene retreat in the bedroom, or simply crave a brief break in the office, this versatile armchair answers to all your needs.

Wooden details crown the look of the Nychair X.

The Nychair X has been upholstered with a robust and high-quality Kurashiki sailcloth that molds comfortably to the contours of the sitter. If necessary, the entire fabric can be effortlessly cleaned or replaced. All the components of the chair continue to be made in Japan to this day, from the bent steel frames to the wooden armrests and sailcloth that have been produced in the same factory since 1888.

Thanks to the foldable structure, Nychair X chairs are easy to store and move from one place to another.

Drawing inspiration from the Japanese way of life, the Nychair X's timeless appeal and meticulous craftsmanship have earned praise from around the world, earning the chair prestigious awards such as the Good Design Award and the Long Life Design Award.

The Nychair X has received several prestigious design awards over the years and is included in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
