TOP 5: Material matters – the most inspiring new products of the month
The Hunting Chair is one of the most iconic pieces in Danish furniture design.
The perfect union of wood and leather
Børge Mogensen’s The Hunting Chair is an iconic celebration of characterful natural materials. The solid wood frame, masterfully joined and perfectly finished, pairs with a saddle leather seat and backrest, secured with simple metal buckles that evoke a rustic yet refreshingly modern feel.
The chair marks the very first time the Danish designer experimented with the marriage of wood and leather – and what a brilliant debut it turned out to be!
The Ismo side table is designer Sami Kallio’s tribute to architecture, to brutalism in particular.
Brutally simple
The Ismo side table by Gejst owes its clean-lined silhouette to the traditions of brutalist architecture, which inspired Helsinki-born designer Sami Kallio in crafting this charming oak furniture. The versatile side table hides a clever twist: while it appears closed from the front, its side is completely open. What a perfect hideaway for those treasures you’d rather keep out of sight!
True to Alessi’s signature style, the Halesia table lamp is made from polished stainless steel with a mirror finish.
Shine bright like stainless steel
Alessi’s portable Halesia table lamp borrows both its charming name and graceful shape from the world of plants. Designed by Michael Anastassiades, this USB-rechargeable lamp features two overlapping, bell-shaped shades that cover a dimmable light source, casting a glare-free glow into the surrounding space. The polished stainless-steel finish adds a striking touch that reflects not only the light but also the details of its environment.
Serax's Earth table lamp brings a touch of organic elegance to any décor.
Delicate as paper
The second spotlight-stealing newcomer of the month is Serax’s delicately poetic Earth table lamp that is made from an unexpected yet enchanting material: papier-mache. Part of Marie Michielssen’s Earth collection, the sculptural luminaire reflects the designer’s deep love for paper, prints, and recycled materials, bringing a touch of raw beauty and soft light to any space.
Jean Prouvé's Antony lounge chair has been released as a rare special edition, available only until the end of 2025.
The wooden gem of design history
Vitra’s latest arrival, the wooden Antony lounge chair, is Jean Prouvé’s tribute to sculptural clarity and functional elegance. Originally designed in the 1950s for the Cité Universitaire student residence in Paris, the lounge chair captivates with its bold silhouette, where a colorful, industrial-style steel frame meets a beautifully curved wooden seat.
Antony was the very first chair to join the furniture collection of the Vitra Design Museum. Today, this design icon returns as a limited, numbered edition that is available only until the end of 2025.
