Futuristic curves, timeless appeal – Pierre Paulin’s F300 Lounge Chair returns

The F300 Lounge Chair was designed by Pierre Paulin in the late 60s.

Pierre Paulin’s sculptural F300 Lounge Chair, first launched in the late 1960s, returns in a striking GUBI reissue – exclusively available at Finnish Design Shop. Relaunched together with the companion T877 Side Table, the F300 makes a confident case for Paulin’s timeless modernism.

LIKE THE BELOVED Pacha Chair, also designed by Pierre Paulin, the F300 Lounge Chair balances bold aesthetics with everyday functionality. But while the Pacha is plush and pillowy, the F300 is crisp and sculptural. With no flat surfaces, the chair invites a range of postures: relaxed, alert, sideways, or somewhere in between.

Originally produced in fiberglass and polyurethane, the F300 has now been reimagined by the Danish brand GUBI using HiREK®: a high-performance, lightweight polymer made from industrial plastic waste. The result is a durable, UV-resistant chair with a smooth, high-gloss surface that requires no additional finishing. Crafted in Italy and easy to move around, the F300 is as flexible in function as it is bold in form.

The F300 Lounge Chair and T877 Side Table are available in a vibrant color palette – and best of all, the table is also suitable for outdoor use.

The reissue also includes the T877 Side Table, designed as a natural companion to the chair. Together, the F300 and T877 celebrate Pierre Paulin’s unique blend of sculptural vision, material experimentation, and modernist thinking. Only a few selected retailers around the world carry the F300 and T877, and Finnish Design Shop is proud to be one of them.

The Human Aspect

To mark the return of the F300, GUBI created a stunning photo series exploring how we take our seat, quite literally. The F300 adapts not only to interiors, but also to people. It becomes what you bring to it: a pose, a presence, a personal take on what sitting means. As Paulin proved time and again, great design doesn’t just support the body – it moves with it.

Laid-back and leisurely or upright and alert? Sideways or straight-up? However you sit, the F300 has you covered. Every shift in position is a shift in perspective. So, one question: how do you take your seat?
The F300 and T877 are both a vivid demonstration of Paulin’s peerless blend of sculptural sensibility, material sensitivity, and modernist vision.

In Europe, the F300 Lounge Chair and T877 Side Table are available exclusively online at Finnish Design Shop.
