171 times to the moon and back – Finnish Design Shop’s year in numbers

2017 was a great year for Finnish Design Shop and we delivered a record number of packages around the world. Here are six fun numerical facts.

1.Finnish Design Shophad over 40 employees serving design lovers.

At our offices in Turku and Helsinki, we have design professionals working in customer service, marketing, product management and logistics. Also, an important member of the Turku team is office dog Tida.

2. We delivered 357 000 kilograms of products to our customers.

So 357 tons of pieces of Nordic happiness including Artek’s stools, Hay’s Tray tables, Moomin mugs and String Pocket shelves! Now that’s a lot of design.

3. We shipped packages to 81 countries.

Finnish and Scandinavian design has friends all over the globe. Last year we shipped for the first time to countries such as Gabon, India and Kuwait.

4. The capacity of our warehouse is a whopping 24 800 cubic meters.

We have our own warehouse in Turku, Finland. That allows us to ship orders quickly, since most of the products in our selection are physically in stock.

5. 211 000 people followed us on social media.

Check out our Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest and YouTube accounts and join us!

6. The total distance our shipments travelled in 2017 would take you to the moon and back 171 times.

Only space is the limit: the 131 590 683 kilometers are also equal to 84% of a back-and-fourth trip to Mars, when the planet is closest to earth.
