Marimekko’s Vihkiruusu cotton fabric is adorned with a beautiful rose pattern designed by Maija Isola in 1964. You may already know the story behind it: Marimekko’s founder, Armi Ratia, once declared that she didn’t want a single floral print in the brand’s collection. Poked on by the comment, Maija Isola went on to create a series of distinctive flower designs that made Ratia change her mind – eight of them were immediately added to Marimekko's collection. Among these now-iconic patterns were Vihkiruusu and Unikko.
Made partly from recycled cotton and printed in Helsinki, the thick Vihkiruusu fabric is perfect for tablecloths and other sewing projects.
