Description

Woud’s Slalom step stool playfully combines a winding, black steel frame with sturdy steps made of white-lacquered oak. This easily movable, multifunctional stool is perfect as a reaching aid in the kitchen, a minimalist nightstand table in the bedroom, or as a plant stand in a living area.

The name and curvy frame of the Slalom stool are inspired by designer Qian Jiang's skiing trip to Northern Sweden. The founder of Stockholm-based Studio Dejawu, the Chinese-born Jiang ingeniously merges Chinese and Scandinavian design traditions in his creations.

Studio Dejawu

Studio Dejawu, a Stockholm-based design agency, was founded in 2015 by Chinese-born designer Qian Jiang. Jiang studied industrial design at Jiangnan University before completing a Master's degree in Industrial Design at Lund University, Sweden. His design philosophy is centered on creating meaningful and honest products: he aims to produce timeless furniture, decor items and art installations that serve as "memory containers" and narrate visually inspiring stories.
