Louis Poulsen's Panthella 250 Portable table lamp is a smaller and cordless version of one of the most popular products designed by Verner Panton. The lamp is rechargeable and dimmable – it lights up your balcony or patio and is easy to grab along with you when you turn in for the night. The lamp runs on a rechargeable battery that can be replaced if needed, and its power switch is a small knob located at the top of the shade.
When creating the original Panthella, Panton's aim was to create a lamp in which the base and the shade would both act as reflectors. The light source is hidden under the hemispheric plastic shade, while the trumpet-shaped base gives the lamp a distinctive, balanced silhouette and also contributes to the distribution of light. Originally released in 1971, Panthella is today considered a classic of Danish design and is available in a range of sizes and colours.
In 2026, marking 100 years since Verner Panton’s birth, the Panthella lamps were reintroduced in their original 1970s colourways, finished with a soft, opal translucency that reflects the spirit of the era.
