Description
New Works’ Kizu table lamp, designed by Lars Tornøe, defies the laws of gravity with a bold combination of geometrical shapes. The charm of the Kizu lamp comes from the hemisphere-shaped diffuser that seems to be balancing upside down on a rounded marble base. The white acrylic shade provides a smooth, pleasant light with no glare, making the lamp both impressive and calming at the same time. Kizu is a lovable eye-catcher in the bedroom, living room or elsewhere in the house.
The portable Kizu lamp has a USB-rechargeable battery that provides light for 10 hours at 100% light setting. The cordless table lamp can be dimmed to three levels by tapping the small metal circle on the top.

Lars Tornøe is a Norwegian designer who has a master's degree in Furniture and Spatial Design from the Bergen National Academy of the Arts. In 2006, Tornøe and his colleague Atle Tveit established the design studio Tveit & Tornøe. One of their most famous designs of their collaboration was the wall hook collection The Dots for the Danish brand Muuto.
Today, Tornøe runs his own studio and designs furniture, luminaires and interior products for various Scandinavian brands. Tornøe has been awarded with several design awards such as the Award for Design Excellence by the Norwegian Design Council and Designer of the Year by Bo Bedre magazine.

Shipping was delayed a week.... The lamp is BEAUTIFUL. I'm very satisfied. The designer seriously thought about the lamp's construction as the marble base must be pierced through. It looks great if placed higher, like above a bookshelf, for the lamp's beauty and marble base to be fully admired.
