Description

Marimekko’s Karuselli mug features a floral pattern designed by Katsuji Wakisaka in 1973. The joyous Karuselli design – Finnish for “merry-go-round” – is a perfect example of Wakisaka’s Marimekko prints, known for their free and playful touch. Made from cotton, the Karuselli fabric is ideal for sewing a custom tablecloth or curtains.

· This fabric is sold by the metre.
· It comes in one continuous length.
· Add the number of metres you require in the Quantity box.

  • Material 50% organic cotton, 50% recycled cotton
  • Colour Multicolour
  • Fabric Printed cotton. Fabrics containing recycled fibers are characterized by a lively colour and texture. Small variations may occur and differences between individual products are part of the feature.
  • Weight 0.25 kg
  • Notes This fabric is sold by the metre and comes in one continuous length. Add the number of metres required into the Quantity box.
    Please note that the maximum continuous length is 15 meters. Cut-to-length fabrics are non-returnable.
  • Care instructions Machine wash at 60°C. Shrinkage max. 4%. Wash with the similar colours.

Katsuji Wakisaka

Katsuji Wakisaka was the first Japanese designer to work for Marimekko when he started in 1968. Inspired by the Finnish nature he created a style that was characterized by organic forms and bold colors.

Returning home to Japan in the 1980s he established his own clothing brand SOUSOU which clothes are based on Japanese tradition.
