Description

Pipistrello Medium by Martinelli Luce is a whimsical table lamp created by the Italian designer Gae Aulenti in 1965. The name of the luminaire, Pipistrello, comes from the Italian word for bat, alluding to the playful and distinctive shape of the opal white shade that resembles the wings of a bat. The height of the lamp can be adjusted with the telescopic steel base.

Gae Aulenti

Gae Aulenti (1927-2012) was a notable Italian architect whose work includes industrial design, furniture, lighting, graphics, stage design and interior design. One of her best-known projects was the new layout for the Musée d‘Orsay, a former railway station in Paris. Aulenti graduated from the Milan Polytechnic in 1953 and during her career, she also worked as an art director at the Casabella-Continuità magazine, a lecturer of architecture in various universities and the vice-president of the Italian Association Of Industrial Design (ADI). In 2012, she received the career prize at the Milan Triennale. She has also received the prestigious Japanese Praemium Imperiale award, the knighthood of the French Legion of Honour, and the Honorary Fellowship of the American Institute of Architects.

If all the items in your order are in stock, your order will be dispatched from our warehouse in Finland within two working days. The estimated delivery time is shown on the product pages and at checkout.

We offer free shipping on small items for orders over
150 €.

For large items, free shipping applies to orders over 3000 €.

“Small item” refers to parcels under 80 cm in length or weighing less than 25 kg. Larger or heavier shipments are classified as “Large item deliveries” (see below).

Please note that the free shipping thresholds stated above may not apply in certain cases. In such situations, any applicable shipping fees will be clearly displayed at checkout.

Large item delivery charge range from 29 € to 149 €  and is automatically calculated and displayed on the product page and at checkout. The exact cost is confirmed once your delivery address has been entered.

Large item delivery charges apply to any single parcel with a side longer than 80 cm or weighing more than 25 kg.

Please note that exceptions to these fees may apply to ensure the safe and reliable delivery of large or delicate items. In such cases, the final delivery cost will be displayed at checkout.

As a member, you’ll enjoy even better free shipping benefits on small items:

  • Level 2: Free shipping for orders over 129 €
  • Level 3–4: Free shipping for orders over 99 €

Exclusions apply: For large item deliveries, an additional surcharge is applied based on your location and the size and weight of your shipment.
