Kartell’s Belvedere chair, designed by Ludovica Serafini and Roberto Palomba, is a modern interpretation of classic Viennese-style rattan chairs. The chair’s name refers to Vienna’s iconic Belvedere Baroque palace and art museum, whose timeless elegance has served as the inspiration for the collection.
The design language of the Belvedere chair is defined by clean, angular lines, while the genuine rattan weave of the seat and backrest is paired with a frame made from recycled plastic. Despite the apparent contrast, the materials interact naturally with one another, resulting in a chair that feels pleasantly light – both visually and structurally. The Belvedere chair is equally at home around a dining table, in a workspace, or in public and contract interiors.
