Marimekko’s Vihkiruusu plate is adorned with a beautiful rose pattern designed by Maija Isola in 1964. You may already know the story behind it: Marimekko’s founder, Armi Ratia, once declared that she didn’t want a single floral print in the brand’s collection. Motivated by this statement, Maija Isola went on to design a series of distinctive floral patterns that made Ratia change her mind – eight designs were immediately added to Marimekko's collection. Among them were the now-iconic Vihkiruusu and Unikko patterns.
The ceramic plate is part of the Oiva tableware collection designed by Sami Ruotsalainen, whose effortless elegance makes it suitable for everyday use as well as special occasions.
