Description

Petite Friture’s Quasar table lamp represents modern French design where functionality, innovative details and eco-friendliness go hand in hand. The luminaire, designed by French designer Samy Rio in 2021, is made of aluminium, 20% of which is recycled. The luminaire is also recyclable.

Named after a star-like, extremely luminous astronomical object, the Quasar luminaire is dimmable and has a colour temperature of either 2200K (warm white), 3000K (neutral white) or 4000K (cool white) – the same lamp caters to a variety of atmospheres! Wireless and rechargeable, Quasar is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use, so you can also enjoy its friendly glow on the balcony, terrace and in the garden. The rope detail not only adds a dash of playfulness to the design but also allows the lamp to be hung on a branch of a tree, for example.

Samy Rio

French designer Samy Rio skillfully balances craft and industrial production – Rio has a background in carpentry and industrial design. In his hands, the two seemingly opposite modes of production not only seamlessly combine but also support each other. A graduate of ENSCI-Les Ateliers School of Design in Paris, Rio’s approach is experimental and open-minded, and in addition to bamboo, glass and ceramics, he has even explored the use of invasive plants in his design.
