Park organizer, clay
Description
Sekisaka's Park organizer draws inspiration from the traditional lacquerware of Japan's Echizen region and from Awai, the idea of an in-between space. Designed by Akihiro Kumagaya, the charming plastic bowl plays with a union of modern and traditional aesthetics, as well as of industrial production and craftsmanship. The idea of an in-between space also shapes the bowl's design: a divider runs through the middle of the oval vessel, splitting it into two sections that are separate yet still part of one whole.
The minimalist container is wonderfully versatile around the home. On the dining table it serves as a tray, bowl or serving dish, on the desk it holds pens and other small items, and in the hallway it becomes a home for keys or accessories.
