Goodnight Light’s The Boat lamp brings together the spirit of childhood adventures and the magic of long summer evenings. Designed by Marke and Eva Newton, the lamp draws inspiration from classic paper boats that many of us once set sailing through rain puddles and small streams. The Boat works as a characterful decorative piece that brings a playful atmosphere to children’s rooms, living spaces, and terraces alike.
The rechargeable lamp allows you to adjust both the brightness and colour of the light to suit the mood, glowing at times as a soft ambient light and at others as a playful pop of colour in the interior. The lightweight The Boat is easy to carry from room to room, and it feels perfectly at home outdoors as well. Floating gently on water, the lamp brings a touch of storybook magic to swimming pools, as long as you remember it’s made for calm sailing rather than deep-sea diving. While afloat, The Boat casts a star-shaped reflection onto the water, making summer evenings feel even more magical. And when it’s time to come ashore, the lamp can also be hung on the wall as a charming source of atmosphere until the next voyage begins.

Marke Newton (b. 1973) is a British contemporary artist, draughtsman and designer based in Barcelona. He graduated with a degree in Fine Art from Liverpool John Moores University in 1995. Throughout his career, Newton has worked across fine art, graphic design, lighting design and music. Since 2014, he has served as the art director and designer at Goodnight Light design brand which he co-founded together with his wife, Eva Newton
