Description
Tom Dixon's Cast Shoe is a shoe that surely isn't going anywhere. Cast in the shape of a classic walking shoe, the doorstop will hold a door open for exactly as long as you want it to, thanks to its solid cast iron presence and a weight of a full 3 kilograms. The versatile Cast Shoe works just as well as a paperweight on the desk, a bookend on the living room shelf, or simply as a sculptural piece to catch the eye.
Like every other item in Tom Dixon's Cast collection, each Cast Shoe is cast in iron in a sand mould and then finished with powder coating, which gives it a durable surface and a pleasingly rough texture. Small irregularities and the marks of the hand are part of the character here, and they make every piece delightfully unique.
