The Finnish Character is an Helsinki based company established by Tuomas Hautamäki, Aleksi Hautamäki, Mikko Leppialho and Avlin Imaditdin. Character retrieves letters from old fascia signs and turns them into stylish design lamps.

The company replaces the old neon tubes with LEDs, adds a transformer and installs a power cord to the letters. And the result is an elegant piece of design with a character that is safe to use both inside and outside. All the letters are individual and unique pieces of lightning. As the letters are recycled they may have some signs of their previous lives.
