The Italian architect and industrial designer Anna Castelli Ferrieri was the first woman to graduate from the prestigious Polytechnic of Milan. In the year 1949 she founded Kartell, together with her husband Giulio Castelli, in order to produce high-quality design products out of plastic.
Before this, she had also founded her own architecture practice, which made projects in Milan, Turin and Genoa. An important project was also the designing of the headquarters of Kartell in Binasco. From the year 1966 onward she started designing products for Kartell and in 1976 she became the Art Director of the company. One of her best known designs is the Componibili storage unit.View all products

I’m very disappointed with the quality of the product. It feels flimsy, especially the top. The top slopes inward, making it nearly impossible to place a lamp or something other than maybe a book as the object would slope at an angle. I would add pictures but that does not appear to be an option.
