Woven Works, a rug brand launched in 2022, pairs old rug-making traditions with modern, innovative and sustainable Finnish design. The Woven Works rugs are designed in collaboration with contemporary Finnish designers and are woven by hand in India.

The roots of Woven Works date back to the early 1960s when Arvo Syvänen founded his own rug mill in the rug-making town of Kauhava in western Finland. Over the decades, the rugs produced and imported by Carpet Syvänen became known throughout Finland. Today, the company is run by a third-generation rug maker Henry Syvänen, who has steered it towards a more sustainable, design-driven and international direction – this is how Woven Works came to be.
