Atelier Sandemar is a contemporary furniture manufactory in the picturesque Swedish archipelago, south of Stockholm, where its unique furniture pieces are carefully handcrafted. The company was founded by Lilian de Souza and Martin Altwegg in 2020. Initially, the duo met each other while working at Studio Hannes Wettstein in Zurich and relocated to Sweden in 2009, driven by the shared vision of establishing a furniture manufactory. Drawing upon their diverse backgrounds in design and craft, Lilian and Martin embarked on their journey by initially supplying small-scale series for renowned companies such as Svenskt Tenn and Källemo and also catered to individual customers seeking custom-made, high-quality furniture. In 2020, they finally felt it was the right time to realize their dream and start their own company.
