Akihiro Kumagaya
Akihiro Kumagaya (b. 1984) is a Tokyo-based Japanese designer and design director whose work spans graphic design as well as spatial, product and furniture design. His approach is rooted in exploring the structure of objects, the ways they are used and the relationships behind them, and in taking a fresh look at existing contexts.
In product design, Kumagaya's work includes pieces such as a camera bag for Olympus and a storage container for Sekisaka. Over the course of his career, he has received honors such as the Good Design Award, as well as the Japanese SDA Award.
