Description

Marimekko's Kavari Piccolo Kioski shoulder bag is decorated with a striped pattern designed by Vuokko Eskolin-Nurmesniemi in 1953, with stripes painted in free brush strokes. The pattern is best known for the legendary Jokapoika shirt, which remains one of Marimekko’s famous products, but the charming striped motif works just as beautifully on a small shoulder bag as well.

Made from 100% recycled polyester, the bag is impressively roomy despite its compact size. The Kavari Piccolo Kioski bag features three separate compartments, with the front one including an additional mesh pocket on the inside. All compartments are secured with zip closures finished with drawstring-style pullers, so your everyday essentials will be safely stored. The adjustable shoulder strap allows you to wear the bag in the way you prefer, either on your shoulder or cross-body. The stylish circular Marimekko logo on the front completes the look.

Vuokko Eskolin-Nurmesniemi

Vuokko Eskolin-Nurmesniemi (1930–2026) is a Finnish textile artist renowned for her bold graphic expression and minimalist yet distinctive fashion collections. She graduated as a ceramic artist from the Institute of Industrial Arts in Helsinki in 1952 and initially worked for Arabia and the Nuutajärvi glassworks. Just a year later, she joined Marimekko as a designer.

During the 1950s, Eskolin-Nurmesniemi created several iconic Marimekko classics, including the Jokapoika shirt, launched in 1956. In 1964, she founded her own namesake brand Vuokko, through which she developed timeless, characterful garments with a focus on everyday wear.

Over the course of her long career, Eskolin-Nurmesniemi has received numerous international accolades, including the Lunning Prize in 1964, the Pro Finlandia Medal in 1969, and the Prince Eugen Medal in 1986. She was named Fashion Artist of the Year in 2001, and in she was awarded the honorary title of Academician of Art. Vuokko Eskolin-Nurmesniemi passed away in Helsinki on Sunday, 19 April 2026, at the age of 96.

If all the items in your order are in stock, your order will be dispatched from our warehouse in Finland within two working days. The estimated delivery time is shown on the product pages and at checkout.

We offer free shipping on small items for orders over
 700 zł.

For large items, free shipping applies to orders over 15 000 zł.

“Small item” refers to parcels under 80 cm in length or weighing less than 25 kg. Larger or heavier shipments are classified as “Large item deliveries” (see below).

Please note that the free shipping thresholds stated above may not apply in certain cases. In such situations, any applicable shipping fees will be clearly displayed at checkout.

Large item delivery charge range from 150 zł to 799 zł and is automatically calculated and displayed on the product page and at checkout. The exact cost is confirmed once your delivery address has been entered.

Large item delivery charges apply to any single parcel with a side longer than 80 cm or weighing more than 25 kg.

Please note that exceptions to these fees may apply to ensure the safe and reliable delivery of large or delicate items. In such cases, the final delivery cost will be displayed at checkout.

As a member, you’ll enjoy even better free shipping benefits on small items:

  • Level 2: Free shipping for orders over 650 zł
  • Level 3–4: Free shipping for orders over 500 zł

Exclusions apply: For large item deliveries, an additional surcharge is applied based on your location and the size and weight of your shipment.
