Description

The Biny floor lamp is a sleek and sophisticated luminaire that complements the décor of a contemporary home. Featuring a slim black steel shade with a dark-painted inner surface, the Biny lamp provides a gentle, warm glow that creates a relaxing ambience whether you place it in the reading corner of the living room or in the bedroom. The lamp's adjustable feet make it easy to find a stable position even on uneven floors.

Reproduced by DCWéditions, the Biny collection is based on the modernist designs of the French luminaire designer Jacques Biny who opened his workshop in 1955. Biny’s work was characterized by efficiency, elegance and modest simplicity.

Jacques Biny

Jacques Biny (1913-1976) was a French lighting designer and the founder of the lighting company Luminalite. Biny was an exceptionally productive designer who developed over 400 models during his career. The essential elements in his designs were functionality, minimalism and clean-lined elegance, and thanks to their timeless appearance, his designs are still popular among collectors. Some of Biny’s designs have been relaunched by the French manufacturer DCW éditions.
