Àngel Jové (born 1940) is an artist, designer, professor, author and actor. Jové made an impression on the design community with his use of alabaster, considered a somewhat lesser material in the 1970s. This resulted in designs such as the Babel table lamp, found in the collection of Barcelona-based design curator Santa & Cole.
With roots in Lleida, Catalonia, Jové is known as a noteworthy pioneer of Spain’s Conceptual Art movement. The range of his artistic expression is notable, as his oeuvre also covers painting, graphic design, and illustration. With a knack for experimentation, Jové was first introduced to the world of design by architect-designer Santiago Roqueta.
