Description

Alessi’s kettle 9091 features two brass whistles that play a pleasant harmonious melody once the water reaches boiling point. The aim of designer Richard Sapper was to create a kettle that would please more than one sense. The sculptural kettle 9091 is made of mirror-polished stainless steel, and the undulating handle is black polyamide. The whistle part can be lifted off the spout with the mechanism located under the handle. Launched in 1982, the kettle 9091 was Alessi’s first design kettle and can be found in the collections of numerous design museums.

  • Height: 19 cm
  • Diameter: 16.5 cm
  • Capacity: 2 l

  • Material 18/10 stainless steel, polyamide
  • Notes Can be used on all heat sources. Please note that the handle is made of plastic: when using a gas stove, make sure the flame is not too high and that the heat is not directly below the handle.

I am replacing our old Alessi 9091 Kettle (wedding gift 36 yrs ago). Unfortunately, it had a copper bottom which was not compatible with our new induction cook top. It's exquisit design and size is perfect to show off in our galley kitchen! I am so happy!!!!

We purchased the kettle to replace the one we bought years ago. This kettle feels very much “less” than the original. It lacks the solid copper base, the lever for the whistle does not work well- it is too tight and cannot easily be raised or lowered, the insulated grip is too small, it’s difficult to use….would not recommend.

Absolutely love this kettle. It is a joy to use and hear the harmonious whistle (loud enough to hear from different rooms in the house which is what we wanted from previously melting a kettle). This kettle makes 3 large cups of tea with a bit to spare. Hopefully this will be the only kettle I have for the rest of my days. Quality piece, classic design.
