Description

Havi's Marigold oven mitt features a pattern designed by English artist William Morris in 1885, bursting with cheerfully ornate marigolds. The two-tone print brings a summery feel to cooking and kitchen decor all year round. Upholstered in cotton fabric and padded with a cotton-polyester fill, the oven mitt is made in Latvia.

William Morris

The Englishman William Morris (1834–1896) was a true polymath whose talents spanned many areas of art and culture. He is known as a textile designer, poet, artist and thinker, and was also a key figure in the Arts and Crafts movement. Morris’s designs for wallpapers, textiles, furniture and stained glass transformed Victorian interior design, and the company he founded, Morris & Co., remains a crucial part of design history to this day.

Morris’s worldview was shaped by medieval art, romantic poetry and later, socialist ideals. His body of work spans fantasy literature, political essays and English translations of Icelandic sagas. Today, he is recognised as one of the most influential cultural figures of Victorian Britain with a legacy that continues to inspire art, literature and interior design.
