Classic shelf, brown lacquered
Description
Lundia's shelf panel allows you to customise and expand the open shelves from the Classic collection to your own needs – simply pair it with Lundia's open uprights in the same depth or add it to your existing shelving system. Both ends of the panel are supported with L-shaped steel brackets that enhance the shelf's load-bearing capacity and prevent it from warping over time. Please note that the package does not include the support pins required for installation.
The open shelf from Lundia's Classic collection is a design classic that has been cherished in Finnish homes since 1948. The possibilities of the shelf are endless: use it as a bookshelf or place it in the nursery or kitchen – you decide! The shelf is easy to assemble and dismantle whenever needed. If you need more storage space, you can expand it with shelves and uprights, and modify it with doors, drawers, dividers and other parts from the Lundia Classic range. The shelf is made of slowly grown Finnish pine wood that makes it a strong, ecological and timeless icon of Finnish design.

Harald Lundqvist (1909–1996) was a Swedish cabinetmaker known for the wooden shelving system he developed in the 1940s – in Finland, it is best known as the beloved pine shelving of Lundia’s Classic range. Lundqvist founded his own furniture workshop in 1939, where he developed a sturdy and easily adaptable storage system in which the shelves could be adjusted without tools and the entire unit could be easily dismantled and reassembled. The patented system quickly gained international popularity, with licences sold in more than 30 countries.
Lundqvist spent the later part of his life in Vevey, Switzerland, on the shores of Lake Geneva.
