Fredericia is a family-owned Danish furniture brand with roots that reach back to 1911 and the city of Fredericia. Founded by N. P. Ravnsø and originally known as Fredericia Stolefabrik, the chair factory quickly gained a reputation for its exceptionally high-quality and durable furniture.
Today, Fredericia stands among the leading names in the Danish modern, known for its uncompromising approach to materials, transparent production practices and design that puts people first.
A living legacy with a fresh perspective
In 1955, Fredericia began its landmark collaboration with Danish designer Børge Mogensen, who became the company’s first head of design. His deep understanding of materials and stripped-back aesthetic laid the foundation for many timeless classics – many of which remain in production to this day.
Over the years, Fredericia has collaborated with a long list of celebrated designers, from icons like Nanna Ditzel and Hans J. Wegner to contemporary visionaries such as Barber Osgerby, Jasper Morrison, Maria Bruun, Keiji Takeuchi and Cecilie Manz.
A union of craftsmanship and industrial expertise
From the very beginning, Fredericia has brought together the best of traditional craftsmanship and modern production. To this day, part of its collection is still made at its facilities in Fredericia and Svendborg.
