Lapuan Kankurit’s Merellä linen towel celebrates Finnish nature with a pattern that pays tribute to the brand’s founder, Liisa Hjelt, who designed many beloved textiles herself. In the late 1970s, Hjelt created the original Merellä wall hangings that brightened Finnish homes. Today, textile designer Elena Helenius has reimagined the motif in a fresh, modern form that brings joy to towels and sauna cushions alike.
The bath towel is woven from 100% linen that has the Masters of Linen certification. The linen is lightweight, absorbent, quick-drying, and an ecological choice – and did you know it cleans perfectly even at 40 °C? Each Merellä towel is made at Lapuan Kankurit’s own weaving mill in Ostrobothnia, Finland, with €2.50 from every sale donated to the John Nurminen Foundation to help protect the Baltic Sea.
