Description

The Wealth of Nations, published by Aatos Editions, is a classic work by Scottish economist Adam Smith, considered the foundational text of classical political economy. In this book, the moral philosopher introduced his ideas on the state's economic role.

This weighty matter is presented in a beautifully designed cover featuring an illustration by Piëtke Visser, based on Ville Andersson's drawing. Fittingly, the cover features the "invisible hand" that Smith famously described as guiding the economy. The book also contains a section dedicated to Smith and his life.

The Wealth of Nations is according to many the foundational text of the discipline of economics, marking a turning point from earlier political philosophy to economics as we know it today. Written by Adam Smith in the late 18th century, his study develops concepts which have since become cornerstones of economic thought such as division of labour, productivity, return on investment, free markets and professions, and more.
