The unique objects of the Swedish design brand follow the motto: “Don't make something unless it is both necessary and useful – but if it is both necessary and useful, don't hesitate to make it beautiful.” The brand’s vision is to democratise design and act as a creative catalyst for Scandinavian design.
Design House Stockholm’s collection features an array of elegant and surprising furniture, lighting and accessories with a Scandinavian touch.

Design House Stockholm – enabling new ideas
The Swedish brand Design House Stockholm was born from a simple but radical belief: the most interesting design does not emerge from fixed commissions, but from free-thinking ideas. Founded in 1992 by Anders Färdig, the brand operates much like a publishing house. Designers are invited to present their own concepts, and the most promising ideas are developed into products.
The selection criteria always combine originality and durability – every product must have character, personality and long-lasting appeal.
Scandinavian design as a mindset
For Design House Stockholm, Scandinavian design is not merely a geographical label, but a broader philosophical and aesthetic approach. The collections draw on clean lines, functionality and natural materials, yet the designers come from all over the world. Many of them have gained international recognition through Design House Stockholm.
For example, Finnish designer Harri Koskinen was still a student when his Block Lamp was taken into production – the lamp has since become a modern design classic. The brand has also collaborated with many other renowned Nordic designers, including Carina Seth Andersson, Lena Bergström, Alexander Lervik and Matti Klenell.
