Marimekko’s unmistakable style is built on clean silhouettes, imaginative cuts and, above all, striking print patterns. In addition to fashion and bags, the collections span a wide array of interior décor, tableware and textiles – from bedding and cushions to towels.

The power of pattern and timeless design

From the beginning, Marimekko has embraced the courage of young and talented designers. Today, the legacy of icons like Maija Isola, creator of the beloved Unikko pattern, and Annika Rimala, who designed the striped classic Tasaraita, lives on in the work of contemporary designers such as Maija Louekari, Carina Seth Andersson and Sami Ruotsalainen, the mind behind the popular Oiva tableware.

At the heart of Marimekko’s printmaking is its own textile printing factory in Helsinki’s Herttoniemi district, where over a million metres of fabric are printed each year. Each product carries a bold, unmistakable style that still reflects the lifestyle envisioned by Armi Ratia.
