Designed by Johanna Hartikainen, the luminaire consists of an opal glass sphere with three metal rings around it, with the form based on astronomy: depending on the angle the lamp is viewed from, one can observe the sphere behind the rings shifting like the different phases of the moon. Designer
Johanna Hartikainen is a Helsinki-based interior architect and designer whose creations are characterized by Nordic simplicity with a sculptural, sometimes even playful expression. Originally from Hämeenlinna, Finland, Hartikainen studied interior architecture and furniture design at Savonia University of Applied Sciences. During her studies, she also spent a year as an exchange student at Bergen Academy of Art and Design as well as at KEA in Copenhagen. She often finds inspiration in nature and its diverse phenomena, particularly in nature's unique combination of delicate and potent characteristics.
