Hetkinen is a Finnish natural cosmetics and fragrance brand founded in 2018, rooted deeply in the landscapes of the Nordic wilderness. Its selection includes scents, candles, diffusers and soaps inspired by northern forests, all crafted from high-quality, plant-based ingredients.
Hetkinen’s design philosophy also draws on Japanese culture, where – much like in Finland – silence, simplicity, the calm of the forest and the shifting seasons are valued. The name Hetkinen, meaning “a small moment”, invites you to pause, savour small moments, and find a sense of calm and clarity in everyday rituals.

Hetkinen: Natural scents from Finland with a Japanese twist
Finnish designer and wood artisan Mona Isotupa founded Hetkinen in 2018, just a year after she entered the FDS Award design competition by Finnish Design Shop with her Pine Lip Balm concept – a minimalist lip balm packaged in a pinewood jar. The concept won the entire competition, and the seed of Hetkinen was planted.
Today, those same beautifully understated pinewood jars remain at the heart of the Hetkinen natural skincare range. Many of the products are still housed in simple, refillable containers crafted from the heartwood of Finnish pine – bringing a touch of Nordic forest calm to bathrooms and bedside tables around the world.
