Maze – modern minimalism meets mindful design
The Swedish brand Maze was born in 2003 when photographer Kent Johansson decided to build his own bedside table, having found nothing on the market that matched his vision. That six-piece wooden creation became the first F Shelf – and the seed of a brand that champions clever design, local production and high-quality materials.
Today, Maze is known for its responsible approach to design, proudly embracing a “Slow Production” philosophy and crafting inventive storage solutions like the versatile Pythagoras shelf series and its distinctive brackets.

Maze brings the spirit of slow food into the world of furniture with its Slow Production concept – a sustainable, thoughtful approach that puts local manufacturing and raw materials centre stage. The brand is on a mission to challenge throwaway culture, one timeless piece at a time.
Every Maze product is made using premium, carefully selected materials that stand the test of time – think metal, wood and leather. The use of plastic has been deliberately minimised across both products and packaging, and Maze is constantly developing sustainable alternatives for the few plastic components that remain.
