Articul
Articul is a Latvian furniture manufacturer with roots dating back to 1993. That year, architect Aldis Circenis founded SIA Coppa, a studio focused on interior design, and in 1999, its sister company Riga Chair Factory began producing ergonomic office chairs. The chairs soon became a familiar sight in Latvian offices.
In 2010, Riga Chair Factory found a new speciality: bent laminated plywood, from which Circenis designed light and inventive furniture for both homes and public spaces. The pieces drew attention and won awards beyond Latvia as well – for instance, the flower-like Bloom stool received the Red Dot Design Award in 2012. In 2016, ergonomic school furniture joined the range, and in 2023, the company’s various operations were brought together under a single brand named Articul.
